Laminated Strand Lumber is the newest high strength composite wood product on the market. Like Oriented Strand Board (OSB), LSL is made from the long strands of fast-growing plantation aspens or poplar. The difference is that the strands are aligned in the major axis. LSL is designed for weather resistance and pre-dried, making it is less likely than traditionally cut lumber to warp or split. LSL is used for beams, rafters, sills, load bearing columns, floors and ceilings.
